Losing Magic Weekend doesn't make any sense. What's the reasoning behind that (if confirmed)?
Because it would create a loop fixture with a 14 team league.
This whole thing is tin pot and a farce.
14 teams is a great shout, but not this soon, and picking the top 12 from IMG system then handpicking the other 2 teams is as I say tin pot.
The Coup bringing Wood back, Hetherington going to London, the overseas quota increasing, the teams increasing with no plan whatsoever and nobody coming out and outlining why it's been done now.
It all stinks to high heaven, we will not progress as a sport when its in the hands of self serving clubs.
It is almost beyond belief that a cash poor sport would pay over £328,000 to get a man out the door and then within 8 years he’s invited back to run the show again. The year that Nigel Wood left he oversaw a £2,000,000 loss, of which his pay off was a big chunk. How can we believe the sport is in safe hands with any kind of future in the wake of events like this ?.
Spot on Owl. Only in Rugby League would we pish up so badly time after time. The only thing IMG have done is to bring some structure to how teams get their house in order.
No idea how the debacle that is Salford got missed so badly.
Our Sky deal is the lowest it has ever been and now we look to bring in 2 more teams when the player pool isn`t good enough for what we currently have.
But at least we can saturate teams with overseas signings and investments in some clubs Academy will be a waste of time.
Imo cubs should be made to have X number of Academy players in their first team squad.
But if the 2 "promoted" teams are of the standard of Salford and Cas there`s going to be quite a few games I and I`m sure others will not bother watching.
On another note. Does Wood still have a financial interest in the Bulls?
