Hard to say what to do in the backs until Custs timescale is known but obviously someone has to come in for Cartwright. Either Balmforth or Hutchinson. Hopefully Aydin is back as I thought Ashworth and Watts were poor off the bench, be tempted to give Eseh a go regardless.
I thought the same about Watts and ashworth although most seemed to disagree. If we go with those 4 I'd be tempted to start one of them and start with Knight on the bench although personally I wouldn't play Watts as he'll probably get sent off against his former club We lost all go forward when the starters went off, massive upturn when they came back on. Seem to remember Watts missing tackles and that daft ball steal. Ashworth put in a needless late hit too. Can also see Watts been too up for it against Cas. To be fair losing Cust and Cartwright didn’t help us. Considering Watts hadn’t played a SL game until Friday night he did a job. When you take both Ese ese & Knight off we are naturally going to lose a little go forward. Think we are also missing the work rate of Aydin. The good thing is we have a coach in Cartwright were anything that is not good enough is not lost on him and will be worked on as we have seen since game 1. Cas is another test on our journey in that we now face a team that was ranked as a struggler like ourselves at the season start, but we have put some performances together and surprised a fair few. We’ve not gone in as favourites to any game as yet but against Cas we will be seen as favourites. We’ve managed to get a result at Wakey after the emotions of beating Wigan in the CC, now the test is not taking Cas lightly and doing the job there. How many times have we seen games we should have won then put in a shocking performance. Hopefully complacency will not be an issue at all. its also the fact that even with the most hardened professional the thought of what's coming the following will perhaps weigh heavy on their minds.

Aaron Bower: Hull FC have won more Super League games in six matches this season (4) than they did in their previous 36 matches spanning two seasons (3). Some start from John Cartwright
Six games in and we have 50% more points already than we achieved across the whole of 2024, and a Cup win at Wigan to boot!! Like you say, some start from JC. Wonder how it compares to our other coaches across recent years? The times they are a-changing, as someone rather more erudite than myself once famously said! First eight games as Hull FC coach: Cartwright W6 D1 L1 Grix W1 L7 Smith W2 L6 Hodgson W5 D1 L2 Last W4 L4 Radford W3 L5 Gentle W6 D1 L1 Same record as Gentle, Grand Final nailed on then! Wrong Peter - Gentle got us to a CC final, sharp got is to our one and only Grand final Whoops! It was so long ago all the Peters have melded together.

Shut-down Sexy-Texy and we'll hopefully get the job done. Backed the Hermanator for another power-over. 5/2, try anytime.
I had him at 14/1 first try scorer..... Good man.He paid for my hotel, ticket, train and beer. He also paid for an extra 6 hours in a pub in Bramley yesterday afternoon, on the strength I mistakenly got the Halifax train instead of the Hull one lol. He also paid for my taxi fare from Bramley back to Leeds train station. I'm deffo a few rashers short of a FULL ENGLISH lol.

| think Peter Gentle and possibly sharp were the nearest we have had persona wise to Carty, myself. Lot to be said for NRL pedigree really just look at the new British coaches at Huddersfield and Cas. obviously struggling culture wise

Thought at times we played ok, ball in hand.. The last 10 mins was a bit disappointing, put the cue on the rack.-IMO. Was very impressed with Eseh, carried the ball strong, and good work rate. I thought it was Briscoe's best game since he's returned.. also Fash , he's improved his discipline, he was the main culprit, in the ' 6 again' , defensively excellent. Next week, it would be massive IF Will Pryce was earmarked to play, just for the reaction from the other side of the city.. If not I'd like to see Rapana at 6, maybe Hardaker or Litten at FB, Moy at the moment, is too lightweight, and needs to work more under the high ball
