FPNs wife has posted quite a slanderous post on instgram regards to his ‘previous club’ stating he suffered racial comments at the hands of staff and was forced to play when injured. Went on to say she is glad to be away from the ‘terrible club and terrible country’



Will be interesting what the club has to say (if anything) with regards to this as in my opinion they need to quash it immediately whether that be through legal action etc. Sorry dont know how to post a screen shot of the comment maybe a younger more technica member of the board could be happy to oblige (if allowed)

I notice that she's slamming fans who have made comments about him too. If you don't want that, don't become a professional sportsman. Your wages are in part paid for by those people sat on those terraces and when you fail to do what you're paid to do, the fans have every right to comment on that.

She's just having a big old dummy spit for some reason.

Whether he was any good or not ( My personal opinion is he was better than people are saying in general) has nothing to do with any allegations and what is acceptable for someone to be subjected to.
Whatever money he was on Ditto - It's no excuse that some of your money or my money has paid for his wages - Racism or abuse is not acceptable
The fans may have right to comment - They don't have right to be Abusive etc.

Now saying all of that

I'd be interested to know if Mrs FPN and her husband lodged any complaints to the relevant authorities at the time or intend on doing so in the future and what Evidence they present to support this.
Seems interesting given that he had been trying to get out of his contract for 12 months but didn't want to give up any losses he would incur if he resigned with someone for less down under.

Everyone should be careful what they say here & more Importantly Wigan RLFC need to respond in some way,
Whether that is by announcing they will be holding a full investigation and asking Mrs FPN & Her husband to present their evidence/statements
Or
If they already know what lies behind this then issuing a Full statement ASAP.

It already has. That’s where I saw it.

I don't condone racism or abuse (assuming it's genuine) either but I also believe if you decide to take up a career in the public eye you need to get the thickest skin possible. If you work in the public eye you get the spoils for doing good and you get the crap doing badly.

It's no different than if you're in a band or a comedian on stage for example. If you're great they'll clap and cheer you but if you're bad you get boo'd. I don't class it as abuse provided it relates to on field performance. Anything else then I'm with you.

She's clearly very emotional about it, even going so far as calling an entire country terrible. Given she has publicly claimed a club has been racist towards he husband and restricted the post to avoid being questioned on it says a lot.

I haven't seen the post in question, but from what posters here have said, it's about racial abuse. Players can and should be criticized if they're not playing well, but any form of racial abuse is not acceptable, and if any fans have been found to have abused Frank Paul, they should be reported to the authorities and banned from the club for life.

Regarding any allegations, I echo Jukesays points and think Wigan need to issue a statement and confirm whether an investigation has taken place or will take place.

If any staff have been found to have racially abused anybody, they should be terminated immediately. Wigan is a proud club that is synonymous with great black and Polynesian players. This would be a huge blight on our great club if it turns out to be true.

Given our past and present excellent relationships with players of all nationalities, colours and creeds, I seriously doubt that any of our staff would have said or done anything remotely racist, or they would have been found out already.
